What is an AC?

ARC licence number – AU54842

Air conditioning, or AC for short, is so important when you live in Brisbane. It provides cooling in the hot summer months and, if you choose a split-system, it provides heating in those slightly chiller winter months.

AC units are relatively inexpensive to purchase and install, particularly when compared to the value that they can add to your home and the level of comfort that they can offer you and your family. New units are also becoming increasingly smart and cost-efficient to run and service.

Typically, AC units will last for about 10 years before they need to be replaced. Older homes may have existing, older-style Window AC’s that haven’t yet been updated. These old units tend to be much less energy efficient when compared with the newer models, and may not be effectively cleaning and filtering the air in your home. At CLF Services, we always recommend updating these models to ensure your air is clean and the AC is not being a drain on your energy supply – causing big electricity bills.

When regional back-burning takes place and the air is smoky or on those days that pollution is high, having an AC that works effectively is critical. Fans simply circulate old air and having windows open will also not be viable. A well-functioning AC will ensure your home or office has clean, fresh air.
